Two gardens near Warminster will be open to the public this weekend as part of a scheme to raise money for nursing and health charities.
Corsley House, in Corsley, and Gasper Cottage, in Gasper Stourton, will both be welcoming visitors on Sunday, September 8, from 11am to 5pm as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Corsley House offers a garden "full of surprises to reflect the eclectic nature of a Georgian home with a secret Jacobean facade".
There is a sculpted wave lawn, a walled garden and well-preserved ancient outbuildings such as a potting and apple storage shed and a granary built on staddle stones.
The garden also offers views over the National Trust's Cley Hill.
Admission is £10, with children entering free of charge, and cream teas and refreshments will be sold to raise money for the church in Corsley.
Gasper Cottage has a one and a half acre garden boasting late-summer blooms, an orchard with a wildlife pond and several seating areas.
There is also a model railway and an artist’s studio surrounded by colour balanced planting and a formal pond.
Entry to see the garden will cost £6, and there will again be no charge for children.
