The weather in Wiltshire is set to take a confusing turn as experts predict a mini 'heat-spike' directly after a yellow rain warning.

English weather is known for being unpredictable at the best of times, but that is particularly proving true this September.

At the beginning of the month, meteorologists at the Met Office put a yellow weather warning in place for rain in Wiltshire on Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6, with potential flooding and travel disruption expected.

But this warning has now been followed up with predictions of a sudden 'heat spike' on Friday with unusually high temperatures for this time of year.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Friday will be another unsettled day with plenty of wet weather, this heavy at times and possibly thunder.

"But higher temperatures staying warm and feeling humid."

So here's how the forecast is looking in Wiltshire this week.
