A network fault has wiped out electricity for over 100 homes and several schools on Swindon's outskirts.
On Friday, September 6, more than 100 homes in Highworth woke up in darkness after a fault on the overhead network line.
The power cut is affecting 115 homes in the SN6 postcode area Highworth, particularly those on Swindon Road and Shrivenham Road.
This includes those living in SN6 7BZ, SN6 7DA, SN6 7DQ, SN6 7QQ, SN6 7SH, SN6 7SJ, SN6 7SL, SN6 7SN, SN6 7SP and SN6 7SW.
Schools in this area, including Southfield Junior School, Highworth Warneford School and Bowood Nursery School are also believed to be affected.
According to Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN), this power cut was first reported at 7.15am on Friday morning and is expected to continue until at least 11am.
A spokesperson for SSEN said: "We're aware of a power cut in the Highworth area affecting 115 homes.
"Our engineers are in the area, working hard to get power restored as soon as possible.
"The cause of this power cut is a fault on our overhead network.
"This is the most common type of fault we see, and our teams are very experienced in dealing with this issue.
"In most cases, the engineers are able to get power back on simply by replacing a fuse at the local substation, however if the fault is severe this may take longer to fix."
