The fire service has issued a warning after reports of an emergency turned out to be a fumigation bomb, reports the BBC.
The BBC reports that the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) attended a property in Old Town in Swindon on Friday, September 6 and saw smoke coming from the windows.
But after firefighters investigated the scene, they reportedly found that the fumes came from a pest control smoke bomb that was being released in the premises.
The service said it is getting more calls about these devices and urged residents to use professional companies or seek proper advice before using fumigation bombs, reported the BBC.
A spokesperson told the BBC that if one is needed people should put a note on the door and alert neighbours.
"Chemicals involved could be harmful, so think of your personal safety and the safety of others around you," they added.
