Police have seized a car after the driver was allegedly caught speeding on a major A-road through Wiltshire.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit reportedly clocked a car speeding on the A350, between Chippenham and junction 17 of the M4, during the weekend of Saturday, September 7.
The driver was stopped by officers and further checks were carried out.
Police say their records showed that the male driver of the car was banned from the roads until 2027, with a female the only person insured to drive the car.
Officers subsequently reported the alleged offender and seized the vehicle.
Wiltshire Police has been cracking down on driving offences in recent months and warned motorists that those caught driving without insurance will have their vehicles seized.
A spokesperson for the force added: “The driver of this vehicle decided to exceed the speed limit on the A350 in Chippenham drawing the attention of RPU.
“Checks revealed only a female insured. That’s due to the male driver (being) disqualified until 2027.
“Driver reported, vehicle seized.”
