A newly opened high street travel agency in Swindon is celebrating its first month by giving away a weekend break.

Swindon Travel Hub officially opened on Friday, August 9 in Old Town and owners Shaun Jones and Ashley Hunt were delighted with the warm response from local businesses and customers.

Following their launch last month, Shaun and Ashley are giving back to their new community by offering the chance to win a pair of theatre tickets to see Back to the Future in London along with a five star hotel stay on their Facebook page.

Ashley said: “We have had a lot of fun and have really appreciated the support from the people of Swindon. In aid of this and our one month in Old Town we have launched the giveaway.

“We are just simply enjoying the journey and have really appreciated the positive feedback from local residents.

“There haven’t really been any issues, but we have had to adapt to now being open on the high street and things that we didn't necessarily need online, such as shift times to support opening hours, keeping the shop clean and little things like that.

“We feel this area really fits us as a business. The variety of small businesses, the community around it and atmosphere of being here. It is just great.

“Since opening we have seen the four biggest categories being cruises, long haul destinations like the Maldives, Disney getaways and summer Mediterranean holidays."

Ashley told the Advertiser on launch day: “People are spending lots of money on the holiday, so we want them to enjoy the whole experience from booking it and leading up to the holiday.

"When you book it online, there’s no excitement. You get an email to confirm the booking but that’s it. We can control the experience now so why not have some fun?"

Shaun added: “It works because we are big kids at heart. It is hard work but rewarding when you get it right. Customers walk out with a smile on their face knowing we will do the paperwork and get everything organised for them.”
