A pygmy goat has been found following a missing appeal in what Wiltshire Police called ‘good news to start the day’.
The prodigal goat, named Buckley, was found safe and well not far from where he was reported missing.
The black male was reported missing after being allegedly stolen from the Lyneham area on the afternoon of September 3, 2024.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said at the time: “If you were in the area and perhaps saw anyone acting suspiciously, or a vehicle hanging around then we would like to hear from you.”
But on September 11, a spokesperson shared that Buckley had been found, with thanks given to those who assisted in the appeal.
They said: “Good news to start the day! Buckley the goat has been found safe and well. This relates to a witness appeal earlier this week.
“Buckley was located not far away from where he went missing. Thank you to those who assisted us with this appeal.”
According to the British Goat Society, “Pygmy goats are miniatures, genetically dwarfed; they are kept mainly for enjoyment, interest and companionship.
“They are generally quiet and docile, but there is some variation, as one would expect with goats.”
