A famous face from Countdown met fans at an Old Town bookshop after two Swindon contestants appeared on the show.
Dictionary Corner legend Susie Dent visited Bert's Books on Thursday afternoon, just a few hours after an episode of the long-running Channel 4 game show aired that featured the bookshop's owner Alex Call facing off against Bradon Forest School student assistant Clare Harris.
Susie signed copies of her debut novel Death by Definition alongside bestselling author Harriet Evans, who visited the shop to promote D is for Death, the first in a new historical crime series.
The pair each put their own spin on murder mysteries with a linguistic twist.
Alex said: "We had a brilliant night. We’ve still got a few signed copies left if you’re quick!"

On Thursday, Alex's winning streak continued despite a valiant effort from Clare.
Countdown contestants can appear for a maximum of eight consecutive episodes before being hailed as an 'Octo Champion', and Alex got one step closer to that achievement with a seventh win on Friday.
The next big event in the Bert's Books calendar will be hosting crime author Peter James at the Swindon Arts Centre on September 20.
