The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.

FERNDALE: Terry Edwards, of Ferndale Road, has been sentenced for assault by beating.

The 61-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting a woman in Swindon between March 1 and 4, 2024.

He must pay a fine of £200 as well as court costs of £85 and £80 to fund victim services.

SWINDON: Liam Skinner, of Beach Road in Kewstoke, has been sentenced for assault by beating of an emergency worker.

The 27-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to hitting a male police officer in Swindon twice on May 13, 2024.

He must pay £250 in compensation to the victim.

SWINDON: Jakub Ksiazek, of no fixed abode, has admitted to two offences.

The 23-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to possessing the Class A drugs of diamorphine and crack cocaine in Swindon on August 10, 2022.

He has been remanded in custody until his sentencing, which is due to be heard at Swindon Crown Court on October 11, 2024.

TOWN CENTRE: Tanya Langston has been sentenced for two offences.

The 31-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to having a sharp-pointed article – a pair of scissors – without good reason while in The Circle in Pinehurst on July 23, 2024, and to making a death threat to someone on July 22.

The defendant received a community order that requires her to carry out up to 25 rehabilitation activity days and pay a fine of £80 as well as £85 in court costs and a £114 surcharge.

The pair of scissors and two screwdrivers have been forfeited and destroyed.

SHAW: Lewis Evans, of The Bramptons in Swindon, has been sentenced for driving without due care and attention.

The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Vauxhall Corsa along the B4553 in Cricklade on October 20, 2023.

He must pay a fine of £115 as well as £85 in court costs plus £46 to fund victim services.

He also received four penalty points on his driving licence.

CHIPPENHAM: Steven Myers, of Wood Lane in Chippenham, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to causing damage to a woman’s tent in Chippenham on July 21, 2024, and indicated a plea of guilty to having a bladed article in public without good reason on the same date.

He received a community order that requires him to carry out six months of alcohol treatment and 12 months of mental health treatment as well as up to 32 rehabilitation activity days, and pay £114 to fund victim services.

The knife has been forfeited and destroyed.

CHIPPENHAM: Jennifer Jackson, of Gainey Gardens, has been sentenced for two offences.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a BMW along Broomhill Road in Bristol while unfit to drive through drugs on February 19, 2024, and indicated a plea of guilty to having 0.3g of the Class A drug diamorphine in her possession on the same date.

She has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £150, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £60 to fund victim services.

The drugs have been forfeited and destroyed.

SWINDON: Levi Iles, of Addison Crescent, has admitted to three offences.

The 26-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her on July 1, and indicated pleas of guilty to damaging a police van and hitting a male police officer on the same date.

He has been released on conditional bail until his next hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court on October 21, 2024, so that a pre-sentence report can be prepared.
