Thousands of Wiltshire locals are set to descend on Newbury this weekend for an event showcasing the very best of farming, food and fun.
Taking place at the Newbury Showground on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, the Newbury Show draws in visitors from across the UK each year with nearly 55,000 attendees in 2019.
The family-friendly show took a three-year break when the Covid-19 pandemic hit but returned back and better than ever last year.
This year, the 2024 show is being sponsored by Ramsbury Brewery and will include hot air ballooning, steam engines, vintage car displays, the British National Scurry Driving Championship, dog agility, and more.
Alongside the entertainment will be stalls showcasing some of the South West’s best food and drink and local independent brands.
Here's everything you need to know about the Newbury Show 2024.
What’s on?
The show is split into multiple arenas, with a main arena, a food and farming zone, a craft tent, equine areas and vehicle areas to cater to every aspect of rural life.
With more than one hundred events across the two days, visitors are advised to check ahead on the Newbury Show website to choose their favourites.
Highlights in the main arena include Pony Club mounted games, vintage displays, hound and livestock parades, a parade of steam engines and hot air balloons which will close the show.
The countryside arena includes events such as Morris dancers, falconry, working gun dog displays and dog agility.
Other highlights include bee-keeping demonstrations, a chance to meet Pippin the Pig, a craft marquee and the opportunity to get a taste of farming life by riding on a tractor.
