A teenager has been punched in the face and chased by three suspects during a violent robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which happened in Swindon on Tuesday, September 17.

Between 7:40pm and 8:10pm on the corner of County Road and the Magic Roundabout, unknown suspects chased a 17-year-old boy after asking for his bicycle.

When the victim refused to hand it over, one of the suspects then punched him in the face before taking the bike.

The three suspects are described as white males and two of them were on pushbikes, with the third male cycling off on the victim’s bike.

One of the males was wearing a long sleeve, light jacket, the second male was in all grey trackies and the third male was wearing shorts, a backpack and a dark coloured top.

Inspector Kennedy, based in Swindon, said: “This is a serious incident where a teenager has been assaulted and had his bike stolen.

“The incident has happened on a busy road in full public view, and CCTV footage shows members of the public and cars going by as it happened.

“We are particularly keen to speak to a witness who was walking along as the victim was trying to get away from the suspects.

“They are described as male, wearing a dark coloured top and carrying a shopping bag.
