Over 80 new jobs will be available with Aldi in Swindon following the budget supermarket’s expansion plans.

This accounts for half the total 160 new jobs created across the UK, reported the BBC, with salaries up to £66,000 on offer.

The jobs cover all levels of experience, from store assistants to cleaners to store managers and include full-time and part-time work.

The 80 roles are available at Swindon’s Aldi distribution centre. The majority of distribution centre roles available in Swindon are warehouse selectors, and pay for this job is advertised as £13.84 an hour – up from £13.18 in July last year.

Communications director, Richard Thornton, is reported as saying that Aldi has "got something for everyone".

The chain currently has 1,000 stores and plans to add a further 500.

“As we continue to attract new customers, we’re looking forward to welcoming even more colleagues to join our distribution centres across the country," said Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK.

“At Aldi, we’re committed to continued investment in the things that matter to our colleagues, such as leading pay along with healthcare and lifestyle perks, and a great working environment.”
