A school and sixth form in Swindon will welcome prospective students for an open event at the start of October.
UTC Swindon, which focuses on science, technology, engineering, and maths, will open its doors on Tuesday, October 3, from 5pm to 7pm.
The event aims to showcase what a technical education is like and its potential career pathways.
Specialising in digital, cyber security, and engineering alongside the usual curriculum, UTC Swindon integrates industry-specific skills into its curriculum, collaborating closely with employers.
A Digital Futures Programme, new for 2024, offers students transferable skills for the expanding digital infrastructure industry.
The refurbished esports suite is another new feature, preparing students for careers in the esports sector.
Catering to students aged 14 to 18, UTC Swindon invites visitors to explore its IT suites, classrooms, and engineering floor during the open event.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to interact with current students, staff, and employer partners.
UTC schools, set up in collaboration with businesses, aim to equip students with academic and technical career pathways.
Students work in a business-like environment, using industry specialist equipment and tackling real-world problems from day one.
The hope is this gives them a "head-start" in their chosen careers.
