Organisers of a unique market event in Swindon have just had their most successful weekend to date and are excitedly planning future events.
The Most Curious Mysterious Alt Market celebrated its third year at Steam Museum on September 21 and 22 showcasing over 80 local businesses to thousands of people.
Organiser Hannah Fruen, of Mamas Events, said: “The weekend went incredibly, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The footfall was better than ever over both days, the support from all the public and customers for our local businesses attending was phenomenal.
“The alternative market was started to include not just crafters but people with a different style and imagination designing and selling all sorts of amazingly creative items.
“There was a gap in the market for Alternative markets as customers and vendors asked us as a business to create something they could experiment with and showcase different items to their normal ranges.

“This is event is truly one of a kind, you will find all sorts of one-off items that have been handcrafted, designed and curated by many crafters and hobbyists.”

“It was so lovely having people attend just to come and see us. We created some of our best pieces of permanent jewellery over the weekend.
"It’s so great to help people have creative freedom and design their own piece of jewellery to suit them and their style. Can’t wait to attend the next event.”
Nat of Nat’s Hobbycraft, selling hand designed mugs, tote bags, glass chopping boards and other bespoke gifts, said: “It was fantastic - amazing vibe, fantastic array of stalls and I will definitely be selling again next year.”
Meanwhile, customer Lou added: “It was brilliant. A fabulous variety of stalls selling all manner of goodies – beautifully quirky clothes, hats, jewellery and various other accessories, homeware, plants and lovely sweet treats too. I can’t wait for the next one."
The date for next year’s event is set to be announced soon, while Hannah is also preparing for a Christmas event – Gothmas – at Steam on November 16.
