Heavy rain is forecast to fall in Wiltshire after floods filled roads and fields throughout the county.
A new government flood alert added yesterday, September 24, states: “Tomorrow's forecast is for heavier showers. We expect river levels to remain high over the coming days.”
The alert applies to the Thames area north of Swindon and warns of flooding in low-lying land from Calcutt to Lechlade, and especially the Hannington Bridge area.

Other alerts near Swindon and Trowbridge warn of “heavy showers forecast”.
Rain is forecast to fall on Wiltshire from 12 to 6pm, becoming heavier throughout the day and peaking around 4 and 5pm when “heavy rain” will fall according to the Met Office.
Flood alerts say property flooding is not expected but to avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses.
The forecast wet weather comes after the county was drenched by heavy rain on Monday, causing flooding to block roads and run through town centres.
The worst affected was Calne, where the town centre became a river after the flood gates were opened.
Thames Water have said their drainage systems became overwhelmed and inspection covers opened due to the overwhelming amount of water.
Nearby Oxford recorded the highest rainfall in 56 years with 77.1mm of rainfall from 9am yesterday (September 22) until 9am today (September 23).
