Swindon's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid on the nearby National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M4, from 9pm September 30 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 15 to 16 lane closure for electrical works. 

• M4, from 9pm September 30 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 16 lane closure for electrical works. 

• A419, from 9.30pm October 1 to 6am October 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 15, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work. 

• A419, from 8pm October 2 to 6am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A419 Northound carriageway closure between slip roads at A420 junction, *diversion via exit and entry slip roads. 

• A419, from 8pm October 2 to 6am October 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A419 Soutbound, carriageway closure between the slip roads at A420 junction, *diversion via exit and entry slip roads. 

• M4, from 9.30pm October 2 to 6am October 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 14, slip road and lane closure for maintenance work. 

• A419, from midnight, October 5 to 6am October 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A419 Soutbound, carriageway closure between the slip roads at A420 junction, *diversion via exit and entry slip roads. 

• A419, from midnight, October 5 to 6am October 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A419 Northound carriageway closure between slip roads at A420 junction, *diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
