A countryside show which took place near Swindon saw thousands of families attend for tractor rides, farmyard animals, steam engines and more.
Crowds of Wiltshire and Berkshire locals descended on Newbury in September for its annual weekend agricultural show aimed at celebrating rural living.
Sponsored by Ramsbury Brewery, the Newbury Show included hot air ballooning, steam engines, vintage car displays, the British National Scurry Driving Championship, dog agility, and more.
As a first-time attendee, I found the show easily accessible from Swindon as it was located just 25 minutes down the M4.
Priced at £20 ticket and £5 for children, it was well worth the money for a family day out as with events on every hour, you could easily spend the whole day there and not run out of things to do.
Children were delighted to hop on their first-ever tractor rides, while budding chefs sat in on expert demonstrations, and animal lovers tried their hand at falconry and dog agility.
The 2024 event was threatened with a rainy forecast, but visitors didn't seem put off in the slightest as they donned their welly boots and raincoats in true farmers' fashion.
The show had plenty of independent stalls in warm and sheltered gazebos offering hot food, drinks, clothes, art, trinkets and more.
Although there was plenty of free food and drink to sample for those not wanting to spend, one thing Newbury Show does well is spotlight local independent businesses that aren't always seen by a large audience.
This was particularly the case for Wiltshire-based brewery Ramsbury which not only sponsored the 2024 show but had immensely popular bars located on site.
"We are so proud to have completed another fantastic year as headline sponsors of the Newbury Show," said a spokesperson for sponsor Ramsbury Brewery.
"Months of planning and hard work all came together to make it a memorable weekend.
"Our bars, the village green area, and branding around the showground looked fantastic, creating a great atmosphere for all with plenty of your favourite Ramsbury drinks on offer."
Following the success of the 2024 show, the Newbury Show is now set to return to Newbury Showground on Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, September 21, 2025.
