New plans have been tabled for the former Matalan store.
A recent application on Wiltshire Council's planning portal shows the closed Matalan will change use to either builder's merchant (sui generis) or Class B8 (self-storage).
The shop closed earlier this year after the news was confirmed by the Journal in April.
The owner of the unit, Freeholdco, says no construction is needed, and that the proposal is "considered to accord with planning policy and there are no material considerations which would indicate that planning permission should not be granted".
According to documents included in the application, Matalan's lease ran out at the site, forcing them to vacate the almost 3,000sqm property.
A transport statement for the application says the impact on the highway network would be 'imperceivable' during rush hour.
