The details for a housing development between Chippenham and Swindon that was approved at appeal have been given the go-ahead by Wiltshire Council.

The project site is located on land north of Webbs Court in Lyneham.

Reserved matters such as the design and layout of the new homes has now been approved, marking a significant milestone for developer Gleeson Land.

The outline application was refused by the council in April 2022 but allowed at appeal later that year.

These are to include detached, semi-detached and terraced houses and flats, with several of the dwelling units to be accompanied by garages.

According to the application, the materials used will be a combination of brown bricks and red multicoloured bricks, stone blocks and light render proposed for the external walls, with a mix of grey tiles and red tiles for the roofs.

It also states that the proposals deliver details of scale, layout, appearance and landscaping that are compliant with the requirement for “high quality design” set out in the Wiltshire Core Strategy.

Lyneham and Bradenstoke Parish Council chose to respond without a comment to the consultation, after objecting to the initial outline application in 2022.
