Swindon headquartered firm Smiths News has enjoyed “solid” financial growth.

The firm, which is based in Kembrey Park, is the leading distributor of newspapers, magazines and ancillary services to retailers across the UK.

It has now reported a “resilient trading performance” during the second half of the 53-week period that ended on Saturday, August 31.

Smiths News’ adjusted operating profit for the 2024 financial year is expected to be at least £38.2 million, which would be in line with market expectations.

The company has experienced moderate revenue growth of 1.1 per cent which was supported by additional sales which it partly attributed to this year’s Euros.
