A Swindon and Wiltshire based salon group has been named the best in the country.

Goldsworthy’s Hair Salon won the prestigious Salon Group of the Year prize at the inaugural Professional Hairdresser awards.

The business, which has branches in Swindon and Marlborough, was established in 1961 by Peter and Peggy Goldsworthy and has won numerous awards in recent years.

The team also scooped Skit of the Year for their humorous Christmas reel and both trophies will be displayed in the Swindon salon.

Brother and sister duo Josh and Sophie-Rose Goldsworthy steered the salon to awards success.

Josh said: “It’s always an honour to receive an award, but to win Salon Group of the Year means so much.

“The other finalists had some incredible businesses, but our team have proved they are the very best in the UK.

“This award reflects the passion and dedication of our entire team, and we’re thrilled to be celebrated at the top of the hairdressing industry.”

Sophie-Rose believes the win is a highlight of a successful year.

She added: “We may have recently celebrated our 60th anniversary, but 2024 has been an amazing year so far – we’ve been finalists in many industry business and creative awards, Josh was named HAIR Magazine Stylist of the Year and our new-look Swindon salon opened.”
