Dozens of people have been hit by a blackout after a power line reportedly came down near Swindon.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks confirmed it has received reports of an overhead power line coming down in the Lambourn area, just miles from Swindon and Wiltshire.
This has left an estimated 91 households without power in the area on Saturday, October 5, as the supply will automatically turn off following these incidents.
Engineers have been deployed and are due to arrive in the area at around 5.30pm, with the utilities company aiming to restore power by around 8pm.
A spokesperson added: “We have had reports of an overhead power line coming down.
“When this happens, the power will automatically turn off to keep everyone safe.
“Our engineers know exactly where the problem is and are working hard to make the situation safe, repair the wire and get your power back on.
“These types of faults often require extensive work and specialist teams which is why the restoration time seems so far away.”
