Police have caught a number of speeding drivers while positioned on a busy road into a Wiltshire town.
Officers from Wiltshire Police’s Chippenham Neighbourhood Team was stationed on London Road to clock any drivers speeding into Chippenham from the Calne direction.
The speed checks were located outside the London Road Cemetery, near Abbeyfield School, on Saturday, October 5.
During these checks, six drivers were caught travelling along the busy 30mph road at excess speed and were stopped by police.

Officers subsequently gave them “words of advice”.
Police have issued a warning to other drivers in the area, urging them to stick to the speed limit to prevent crashes on Wiltshire’s roads.
A spokesperson for the force added: “Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out speed checks on London Road.
“Speeding is one of the fatal five causes of serious road traffic collisions, and we are committed to keeping our roads safe for everyone.
“Please drive carefully and stick to the speed limits to protect yourself and others on the road.”
