Emergency crews are in attendance at a crash that has caused gridlock near an M4 junction in Wiltshire.
Both police and paramedics were still in attendance at an incident on the A3102 Swindon Road, between junction 16 of the M4 and The Sally Pussey's Inn at Royal Wootton Basset, at around 10.30am on Tuesday, October 8.
Police announced that the road had closed at around 8.30am following a four-vehicle crash and at the time of writing the route remains blocked.
Multiple cars at the scene appear to have been damaged during the incident, but police are yet to confirm the severity of the crash and if anyone has been injured.

Drivers have been warned to avoid the area if possible and seek alternative routes until the road is cleared.
This has caused significant delays both on the road and at junction 16 throughout the morning and has impacted drivers travelling between Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett.
One motorist in Royal Wootton Bassett told the Adver it has taken them one hour to move one-quarter of a mile.
Motorists have been diverted towards Hook and there has been heavy traffic around the village as a result.
