The NSPCC is set to host its Festival of Trees in Swindon this Christmas and is looking for sponsors to support the event.

The annual event will take place at the Wyvern Theatre, with trees displayed throughout the festive period.

Businesses, clubs, and organisations are now being invited to sponsor and decorate the trees.

This year, the Festival of Trees will have a Cinderella theme to match the Wyvern Theatre's pantomime.

The Festival of Trees will be open to visitors to the Wyvern Theatre during the entire run of Cinderella, until January 6.

Funds raised from the event will go to the NSPCC, which has its South West regional hub in Swindon, providing support services for children and families in the area.

These services include Domestic Abuse Recovering Together, Letting The Future In, and Pregnancy In Mind.

They provide children and families with support services, helping those impacted by domestic abuse, those who are victims of child sexual abuse, and expectant mothers with mental health issues, respectively.

Charlton Park will also donate Swindon town centre’s main Christmas tree for the NSPCC.

The tree will be located in the town’s Christmas market with the big light-up taking place on November 23.

Emma Hildesley, NSPCC community fundraising manager, said: "We hope that this year’s Festival of Trees will be even bigger and better than ever before.

"We always appreciate the support we receive from businesses and organisations in Swindon who take part in the event and we hope even more will get involved to make it truly magical.

"This year, we have a theme of Cinderella to tie in with the Wyvern’s pantomime and we are looking forward to seeing how imaginative and creative our tree decorators can be.

"All the money raised from the event will be used to help provide NSPCC services.

"We are extremely grateful to the Wyvern for agreeing to host the Festival of Trees once again and also to Charlton Park for providing the real Christmas tree which will be a centrepiece for the town centre.

"Thanks also to Swindon Borough Council for their help in installing the tree."
