A woman from Swindon who suddenly lost her dad to an undiagnosed heart disease has organised a motorbike ride out in his memory.
Kia McDougal’s dad Duncan was due to move back from Ipswich to Swindon to be closer to his family but sadly passed away from an undiagnosed heart disease on September 9.
As a motorbike enthusiast, Kia and the Swindon Bikers group have organised a fitting send-off for Duncan with a final ride around the town on October 15.
The group will be meeting at Pearce funeral house and riding to Kingsdown Crematorium from 1pm and his family would love to see a big turnout to honour his memory and kind-hearted nature.
Kia said: “He was an amazing kind man and everyone who met had great things to say about him. He loved rock music, guitars and bikes. He has always been so supportive of helping those in need. He always said everyone deserves help and support.

“He’d give his last penny to someone in need. We are doing an escort for his funeral. He was a motorbike fanatic and died very suddenly and unexpectedly from hypersensitive heart disease.
“He passed on the day he was moving back home to Swindon to be closer to his family and the bike ride for his funeral will be a great way to welcome him back home for his final journey.

“The whole community has come together to support me and my family with this wish and it’s amazing how the bike community has come together for his final journey.
“He will be taken on his final journey in style, just as he deserves. Let’s show him he was welcome back here and will be so missed.
“We have no idea how many people to expect at the moment, unfortunately, so far we have around 20 but we’re trying to get a lot more.
“And anyone who wants to join is welcome to”, Kia added.

The Swindon Bikers group have organised several other events in recent years in memory of members who have tragically passed away.
Most recently 200 people attended a bike ride in memory of Alison Perks, who was killed following a crash near Cirencester on July 30 and an event in memory of Mike Allen, who lost his life in a crash on the A419 near Blunsdon on July 6, 2022.
