A beloved therapy dog has retired from her role at Great Western Hospital.
Jette, the first ever ‘Pets as Therapy’ dog at the Swindon hospital, completed her final shift at the local hospital recently.
She has been bringing a smile to patients’ faces by cheering them up in their time of need and providing some much-needed stress relief to hospital staff since 2017, but now is the time for a much-deserved rest.
The Voluntary Services GWH group have shared some of their favourite videos of her.
The videos show her walking around the hospital wagging her tail and gently greeting everyone she sees in a friendly way.

In a social media post, they paid tribute to her hard work and thanked her owner Jane.
It read: “On Friday, Jette, our first ever 'Pets as Therapy' dog at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust completed her last shift.
“Having made regular visits to GWH since 2017 and now being of a 'respectable' age, Jette has certainly earnt her retirement!
“We would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'thank you' to Jette and to her owner, Jane, for bringing happiness and calm to our patients and to our staff over the years!
“Jette, you are so loved and we will miss you loads... especially your waggy bot-bot!”
