The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.

PINEHURST: Eden Franklin, of Pound Lane, has been sentenced for theft from a shop.

The 30-year-old indicated pleas of guilty to taking an £85 speaker from Asda in West Swindon on April 3, 2024, and stealing alcohol worth £210 from the same supermarket on March 25.

The defendant must pay £210 in compensation.

PINEHURST: Daniel Moore, of The Bungalows, has been sentence for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to committing the offence against a woman in Swindon on July 12, 2024.

He must pay a fine of £120 as well as £85 in court costs and £48 to fund victim services.

TOWN CENTRE: Tony Da Costa, of Northampton Street, has been sentenced for a driving-related offence.

The 46-year-old pleaded guilty to failing without reasonable excuse to provide a breath sample to police when suspected of having driven a vehicle on September 28. 2024.

He has been banned from driving for 18 months, fined £200, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £200 to fund victim services.

PENHILL: Nikolosz Chikhladze, of Hannington Close, has been sentenced for a driving offence.

The 36-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Toyota Rav 4 along Ramsbury Avenue on September 28, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £1,344, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £538 to fund victim services.

MOTORWAY: Kristian Tabram, of Allchurch Gardens in Swansea, has been sentenced for drink driving.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit along the M4 near Swindon on September 29, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

He has lost his driving licence for 20 months and must pay a fine of £484 plus £85 in court costs and £194 to fund victim services.

CHIPPENHAM: Jake Clark, of Portway, has been sentenced for assault by beating.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to hitting two women on May 27, 2024.

He must pay £150 in compensation to each victim.

CHIPPENHAM: Samuel Sneyd, of Wood Lane, has been sentenced for theft from a shop.

The 38-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to stealing spirits worth £400 from Morrisons in Devizes on April 29, 2024.

He must pay £400 in compensation and £85 in court costs.

MARKET LAVINGTON: Matthew Williams, of High Street, has been sentenced for three offences.

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to impersonating a police constable to deceive someone, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour to cause someone harassment, alarm or distress, and driving a Volkswagen Sharan without due care and attention in Beckhampton on August 10, 2024.

He received five penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £80 as well as £85 in court costs, and comply with a community order that requires him to complete 12 days of mental health treatment and up to 15 rehabilitation activity days.

CHIPPENHAM: Kevin Hawkins, of Hill Rise, has been sentenced for criminal damage.

The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to damaging a police van on September 25, 2024.

He must pay an £80 fine as well as £85 in court costs, and comply with a community order that includes attending up to 15 rehabilitation activity days.
