Nearly a dozen new businesses are opening their doors in a Wiltshire town centre after planned food venues were confirmed.

In early October, this paper reported that several businesses were due to open in Trowbridge town centre throughout October.

Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce has since confirmed that a further five venues will open “very soon.”

This includes the multi-award-winning LJ Hugs street food venture, which is reportedly setting up shop at Stallard Street, opposite the railway station.

They will be joined in the town by Food Amore, a family run business set to offer homemade dishes from unit one of The Shires Shopping Centre.

The new eatery has undergone a major renovation during the last week, ahead of opening.

These newly announced food and drink venues follow the news that two others will be opening throughout October.

These are The Chicken Stop, which is taking over the former JC’s Kitchen unit at Castle Place, and The Sandwich Hub, also in Castle Place.

The chamber of commerce also confirmed that Soma Health and Beauty salon will open on Fore Street.

Meanwhile, the Ruksak45218 charity has taken a new premises at Castle Place, in the old Shaws store.

Other new businesses that had already been confirmed as opening in Trowbridge this month include Mini Market Express, in a Castle Place unit previously occupied by McColls, and leisure business Relax Recover.

This is located next to Caesar’s coffee shop in The Courtyard at the Gateway shopping mall.

The Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce has urged residents and shoppers to make the most of the new offerings to ensure that these independent businesses thrive.

A spokesperson said: “Nine new independent businesses are opening very, very soon in Trowbridge town centre.

“Please look out for their launch events and prepare to come down to support all these new businesses, as well as all our existing ones.”

Kez Garner, chair of Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce, has previously suggested that the additions will make the town centre a more “vibrant” place.

She said: “I am delighted to see more shops opening and food places included in that.

“There are more coming but they have not announced themselves yet. The front of Castle Place will look quite vibrant by the end of the month.”
