The A419 is closed in both directions at the bridges over the White Hart roundabout junction with the A420, between Swindon and South Marston.

The closures began on October 2 and will last until October 17 as essential work on bridges is completed, with National Highways replacing joins and waterproofing the structures.

The northbound carriageway is closed until October 17, and the southbound carriageway until October 14.

Ongoing closure information:

Full weekend closure: Friday, October 11 from 8pm to Monday, October 14 6am.

Weeknight closures: Monday, October 14 from 8pm to Thursday, October 17 6am.

The A4312 and A420 will be unaffected during the work.

Diversions

If you’re travelling northbound exit the A419 at the A420 junction and head towards the A420 Roundabout, join the A420 Merlin Way which will take you back to the A419.

If you’re travelling southbound, exit the A419 at the A420 junction and head towards the A420 Roundabout where you’ll join the A420, which will take you back to the A419.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but need to carry out these essential repairs to ensure the long-term maintenance and safety of the roundabout and bridges.

“We understand that road closures are frustrating, but by fully closing the road, we can get this essential repair work done safely and quickly, causing less disruption overall.

“Once it's all complete, these improvements will benefit road users and the local community for many years to come.”
