A busy junction of the M4 in Swindon controlled by traffic lights was hit by a major outage when around half the lights stopped working.
The Spittleborough roundabout at junction 16 has five exits merging M4 traffic with that from other B and A roads.
Drivers were left to use their own judgement following the outage, but there was no noticeable effect on traffic flow.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “Around 12.30pm we were notified of an issue with traffic lights at J16 of the M4.
“An engineer was dispatched to the scene and a repair was undertaken. The lights were working correctly by 17.30. We apologise for any local disruption.”
