One example on Akers Way sold for the figure in March 2020. It was an increase of £8,277,451 on its last sale of £42,600 in 1998 - a 19,431 per cent increase.
A mid-terraced house with 101 square metres, three beds and two reception rooms, the owner must surely have made some big upgrades to get that increase.
So what is it about these houses that is so desirable? Will there be a rush on Swindon houses with profits like this to be made?
Probably not. After the prices were brought to light by the Advertiser, the Land Registry discovered the price tags were a registration error which they now plan to investigate.
