Police have been lying in wait for drivers speeding through Wiltshire villages and multiple tickets were dished out.

Officers from the Chippenham Neighbourhood Team carried out speed checks on routes through Yatton Keynell and at The Salutation Inn, north of Castle Combe, on Friday, October 11.

During these checks, two drivers were caught breaking the speed limit through the villages, while another was allegedly spotted not wearing a seatbelt.

All three of these drivers received tickets for their alleged offences.

Officers say the checks were carried out as part of Wiltshire Police’s campaign to crackdown on motoring offences around the county.

A spokesperson added: “PCs Swanborough and Dorey have been conducting speed checks at Yatton Keynell and The Gibb.

“Two tickets were issued for excess speed and one for not wearing a seatbelt.

“These two offences are part of the fatal five campaign, which we will always seek to enforce to keep the community and public safe.”
