There is a risk of thunderstorms this week as what the Met Office calls a “plague” of heavy rain continues across the region
Wet weather is forecast to continue in Swindon and Wiltshire on the evening and night of October 15 and is set to get worse on Wednesday, October 16.
Wednesday will be a relatively warm day but prolonged heavy rain will continue with a risk of thunderstorms and localised flooding.
The Met Office writes: “A rather warm day, however heavy rain continues to plague the southwest.
“Light winds lead to rather prolonged downpours, bringing a risk of thunderstorms and localised flooding across the region. Maximum temperature 18 °C.”
The week has been wet so far with flood warnings still in place since the county was drenched last month.
Rivers ran through Calne as record levels of rain fell in the county, and while there have not been the same impacts since it has not been dry.
In Trowbridge, the heaviest rain is forecast at 5pm to 8pm and similar for other Wiltshire towns.
Thursday to Saturday forecasts: “More settled on Thursday with light winds, sunny spells and isolated light showers, before turning cloudy, wet and windy on Friday. A scattering of showers in the southwest on Saturday.”
