A world-famous landscape garden in Wiltshire has been named the 'number one National Trust destination' on TikTok.

Stourhead is a 1,072-hectare (2,650-acre) estate in Warminster with a famous Hollywood history.

Towering over the estate's grandiose garden is the equally impressive Temple of Apollo.

Jane Austen fans will no doubt recognise this monument from the incredible Pride and Prejudice movie starring Keira Knightly and Mathew Macfadyen.

This is the iconic location where the brooding Mr Darcy makes a botched first proposal to Miss Elizabeth Bennet.

Recently, Stourhead has captured TikTok users' imaginations.

Under the caption 'National trust destination number one', user joshh868 posted a video showcasing the impressive site.

The comments section could not quite believe how stunning the estate was.

One said: "I absolutely love stourhead especially in the winter".

Another commented: "Stourhead is by far my favourite site I've been to, I feel privileged to even step foot on those grounds, it's absolutely breathtaking".

Stourhead

The Stourhead estate is perfect for exploring in autumn, with an Iron Age hill fort, acres of ancient woodland and a 160-high folly, King Alfred's Tower, all against the backdrop of amber leaves.
