James May has called Jeremy Clarkson an ‘arse’ and commented on his controversial nature.
The pair along with Richard Hammond went their separate ways professionally earlier this month with the culmination of Prime Video's The Grand Tour.
Having worked together on the show and, before that, Top Gear for a combined 22 years, the gang called it a day with one final special.
Now one month later in a chat with The Telegraph, Mr May has revealed what he really thinks of his co-star.
When addressing if he winced at any of Mr Clarkson’s controversies, the 61-year-old said: “At virtually everything he said, yes.
“But I don’t wince about Clarkson being controversial because it's his job and he is very good at it.
“I’d wince at him not understanding some basic principle of aerodynamics.
“I’d think, how can you not know that?”
