A Swindon entrepreneur has been recognised for her efforts at the UK's largest recognition platform for women in business.

Fi Da Silva Adams, founder and CEO of Revolution Performing Arts (RPA), Swindon's leading performing arts company for children and young people, secured a silver award at the national Best Businesswomen Awards.

She was recognised in the Best Businesswoman Working with Children & Families category.

She said: "While we may not have taken home the gold, I am absolutely thrilled to have won the silver award.

"This is our first time being a finalist for a national award, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Revolution Performing Arts along the way."

Ms Da Silva Adams has been steering RPA since 2007, when it started as a drama group catering to toddlers and preschoolers.

Under her guidance, the initiative has grown and now offers a variety of performing arts programmes for children of all ages.

Currently, RPA runs more than 1,292 sessions annually, serving more than 400 children each week.

The company also supports almost 5,000 participants through its Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme.

Ms Da Silva Adams also manages Rapport Community Interest Company (CIC), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping young people aged 11-18.

The CIC provides free opportunities for those affected by domestic abuse.

Through these initiatives, Ms Da Silva Adams champions the role of the arts in helping young people express themselves.

Reflecting on the awards night, she said: "It was a truly wonderful evening spent with my family and a valued member of my team, who has been my rock throughout this journey.

"A massive thank you to Debbie Gilbert for creating such an inspiring event, and congratulations to all the other incredible gold and silver winners.

"It was heartwarming to connect with so many brilliant women, all striving to make a difference."

The silver award places Ms Da Silva Adams in the prestigious Winners Club, allowing her to participate in biannual networking events in London.

These gatherings offer an invaluable opportunity for past and present winners to connect with each other, as well as with sponsors and judges from the awards.

The Best Businesswomen Awards ceremony took place on October 11 at Hilton Syon Park, London, bringing together a group of women dedicated to making an impact in their respective fields.
