The main route to one of Swindon’s top tourist attractions is partly blocked by road works.

Each week, thousands of shoppers travel from far and wide to bag bargains at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Rodbourne.

Kemble Drive is often full of flowing traffic heading in and out of the North car park opposite one of the retail village’s main entrances.

In recent days, vehicles have had to navigate around obstacles as different parts and sides of the road have been temporarily cordoned off thanks to Elon Musk.

Where only one lane is open to traffic, drivers should take note of give-way signs that indicate which direction has priority.

Swindon Borough Council is overseeing 10 days of road works which will add a new service connection to the area.

Work to install high-voltage cables for infrastructure that would allow parked Tesla cars to be charged began on Monday, October 21, and is expected to be completed by Friday, November 1.

The works coincide with the Outlet’s Late Night Shopping event on October 31 and November 1, which is expected to attract even more visitors than usual as the shopping hub extends its opening hours and adds extra discounts to the big-name brands’ goods.
