A town centre dessert shop has been awarded a two out of five food hygiene rating.
Kaspas Desserts, Wessex Court, Clarence Street, was visited for an inspection by food safety officers on September 30.
Overall, the establishment was deemed as needing improvement, with the hygienic food handling being ranked as very good, while the cleanliness and condition of the building and facilities were found to require improvement and the management of food safety was generally satisfactory.
The Kaspas franchise has around 100 stores across the country and the only other restaurant in the chain to be rated a two is on Kingsbury Road in London.
This means that the Swindon Kaspas dessert parlour is one of the worst Kaspas stores in the UK.

The store was approached for comment, and while Manager Jordan did not want to explain the specific reasons for the low score, he did add that they are hoping to improve when they are re-inspected.
He said: “It was related to small things and it has been sorted.
“They explained how to make improvements, to be honest nobody is perfect. What I like about them is that they told us the process and we told them we would do it and we did it.
“They are helping us to sort things out and they are due soon for a re-inspection.”
