A team of care workers have spent a day helping a charity prepare for the opening of its new shop.

Sylvian Care, Swindon volunteered at Age UK Wiltshire's community centre in Toothill on Friday, October 17, sorting through donations for the new shop in Devizes, which is set to open soon.

Claire Puttick, registered manager at Sylvian Care, Swindon, said: "Volunteering at Age UK Wiltshire's Toothill Community Centre was a real eye-opener.

"Our team from Sylvian Care - Swindon joined forces with Age UK Wiltshire to sort through donations in preparation for the opening of their new Devizes charity shop in the coming weeks.

"It was incredible to see the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes.

"Each item requires careful sorting and quality checks to ensure only the best make it to the shop floor.

"Knowing our efforts will help make a positive impact on people across Swindon and Wiltshire made the experience truly rewarding."

She added the day was "a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the local community," saying "This charity holds a special place in our hearts".
