Swindon’s top rated Indian restaurant is still up for sale.

Ruchi, based on Victoria Road in Old Town, has been a popular family-run eatery for 33 years.

It is currently the second highest rated restaurant in the whole of Swindon on Tripadvisor and the number one Indian restaurant.

But despite glowing reviews, a prime location and plenty of regular and new customers keeping them busy, the owners listed the business for sale earlier this year.

It was listed on businessesforsale with an asking price of £169,000 several months ago, which has since been reduced to £160,000.

The listing states: “A profitable business been established since 1991.

“We are starting a new chapter in our lives. Hence why this is on the market. We have spent thousands of pounds renovating it. So it's ready for a new ownership.”

The renovation includes a new shop front and new main bar, and features staff accommodation upstairs with two large bedrooms, a small kitchen, shower and toilet room.

A VIP room is also situated upstairs and holds around 40 seats for private functions, with a small bar and smoking area.

The owners of Ruchi were contacted but declined to comment.
