There was excitement at Didcot Railway Centre earlier this week as an 88-year-old steam locomotive headed a train from the town to Stratford-upon-Avon.
The No 5043, named Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, headed the private charter train on Monday, October 21.
It left Didcot at 12.30pm, reaching its destination via Oxford and Banbury at 3.12pm.
The journey was organised by Vintage Trains of Tyseley Locomotive Works in Birmingham, where the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe is based.
The railway centre is set to hold steam days on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
Visitors will have chance to see trains dating from the Victorian era up to the 1960s.
There will also be steam trains operating on at least one of the centre's two demonstration lines, offering visitors unlimited rides.
