Police are hunting a man in a balaclava after reports of theft from cars in an area with some of the most expensive streets around.

Vehicle interference and theft incidents happened in the Purton area in the early hours of October 25.

Wiltshire Police believe a man they have released a picture of “may be able to help with [its] enquiries”.

He is pictured wearing a balaclava with his hand on the door handle of a white car, and it is believed he was in the area at the time of the incidents.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for your help to identify this person following reports of theft from vehicles and vehicle interference in the Purton area.

“The incidents happened in the early hours of October 25. We believe this man was in the area at the time and may be able to help with our enquiries.
