Hollywood Bowl is looking for people to be the first to try out the new venue in Swindon when it opens next month.
Hollywood Bowl is set to open at Greenbridge Retail Park on Saturday, November 23 after several delays to construction.
Ahead of the opening, they have created a new role for bowling enthusiasts over the age of 18 to test out the new facilities as a ‘Director of fun’ with a family member or friend.
Successful applicants will also get a chance to test out samples of food and drinks, including American classics like hot dogs, burgers, shakes and signature cocktails.
Additionally, there will be the opportunity to test out the amusement arcade, from games like air hockey and Mario Kart.
Nathan Barwick, Centre Manager at Hollywood Bowl Swindon, said: “Engaging the local community for the launch of our new centre is really important to us and what better way than to offer a unique job role to families and bowling enthusiasts?
“We’re eager to see who will step into this exciting new role and can’t wait to bring affordable fun to the area, offering family and friends a taste of modern LA.
“The successful candidates will also receive one year’s worth of complimentary VIP bowling, enabling them to carry out this important role throughout the year, and ensuring the experience is always fun for all.”
Applications are open until Thursday, November 14 and the winner will be selected and contacted by email on Friday, November 15.
The £3.5 million family bowling venue will feature 22 lanes including 4 VIP lanes, a bar and diner and they have introduced opening offers like one game of bowling and a drink for only £5 all day November 25 until November 27 and before 6pm on November 28 and 29.
Hollywood Bowl was set to open in late spring 2024, but the opening was pushed back until August, later confirming construction was still underway and they would be opening later than planned.
New signage was placed at the front of the building earlier this month and the firm has been in the process of recruiting staff to man the centre when it’s open in November.
The unit previously housed Currys PC World until 2021 and was a temporary base for the charity Computers for Africa until their lease ran out and the venue will add to existing venues in Bristol, Cheltenham and Oxford.
