A special event is set to be held at a crematorium in Wiltshire next weekend to mark Remembrance Day.
West Wiltshire Crematorium will host the Open Chapel event on Saturday, November 9, between 11am and 12pm.
Visitors will be given the chance to spend a quiet moment in the chapel for reflection, light a candle, and collect flower seeds.
These seeds can be placed on a memorial within the crematorium’s grounds or taken home.
Flowers will also be available. These can also be placed on a memorial or taken home.
Additionally, visitors can write a letter or card to be posted in the crematorium’s Letters to Heaven memorial post box.
The event is open to all, with no need for prior booking.
The crematorium is one of 40 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales managed by the Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent cemetery and crematorium operators.
West Wiltshire Crematorium manager, Louise Belsey, said: "Honouring lives of people who have passed on is a big part of what we do here and it feels fitting that we should commemorate Remembrance Day.
"As a nation, it’s important that we never forget those who gave their lives for us.
"Everyone is welcome to join us at our open chapel event to reflect on and remember those who fought and died in the armed forces."
For further details about the crematorium and the care it offers, people can visit the West Wiltshire Crematorium website.
The gardens of remembrance at all the Westerleigh Group sites are designed to provide peaceful spaces for reflection.
