The owner of a Wiltshire restaurant has been sentenced for sexual assault.
Mario Baran, of High Street in Royal Wootton Bassett, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of intentionally touching a woman without her consent.
Both offences occurred in the 55-year-old’s restaurant Mario’s Pizza - once on September 2, 2023, and again at some point between October 6 and 10, 2023.
The 55-year-old returned to Swindon Magistrates Court on Monday to find out how he would be punished for these crimes.
The court had previously heard how Baran had offered the victim alcohol in his office and drank with her late into the night.
Prosecutor Mr Burnham said at an earlier hearing: “Baran gave the victim [laughing] gas before the assault took place, rendering them less able to look after themselves.
“The victim voluntarily took the gas from Baran and there was touching over the clothes without consent.”
His defence solicitor mentioned that Baran had denied the gas supplied in an interview.
The defendant received a community order that requires him to carry out up to 35 rehabilitation activity days and pay £300 compensation to his victim.
He will be added to the sex offenders register for five years.
