A road named the most expensive in Swindon has been closed for emergency repairs, leading to a diversion for drivers.
Broome Manor Lane, also called Hodson Lane on some maps, which runs from near Chiseldon, over the M4 through Hodson to Broome Manor is closed to traffic.
The repairs began on October 28 and will last until 6pm on November 1. The footway remains open.
They are to replace safety barriers along with “associated repair and improvement works to the carriageway and traffic signals”.In 2023 the road was named the most expensive in Swindon, with an average house price at that time of £805,000 - the only road in Swindon to top £800,000.
This is against the average Swindon house price at the time of approximately £314,018.
