Police who lay in wait on multiple roads around the county caught nearly 10 speeding drivers.
Speed checks were carried out in Avebury, St Ediths Marsh, Upavon, Potterne and Market Lavington yesterday morning, October 29.
The roads checked were all 30mph - but one driver of nine caught was found to be doing 45mph - one-and-a-half times the limit.
Wiltshire Police reported that most people were within the speed limit, but the nine drivers who “unfortunately” broke the limit were given traffic offence reports.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “PC 70819, PC 70811 and PC 70813 attended Avebury, St Ediths Marsh, Upavon, Potterne and Market Lavington this morning to ensure all driver were adhering to the 30mph speed limit.
“Whilst police were present, they were glad to see most drivers were sticking to the speed limit.
“9 Traffic offence reports were handed to drivers who unfortunately did not abide by the speed limit.”
