A Swindon-based charity which helps to protect more than 420 historic sites across the country has received a share of a £1 million fund.
English Heritage has been awarded a £45,000 grant by Benefact Group as part of its Movement for Good Awards.
The money will assist the charity in its mission to protect historic sites and artefacts spanning six millennia.
The funds will also help to provide hands-on experiences to educate and entertain people of all ages.
Dr Paul Lankester, climate resilience lead at English Heritage, said: "English Heritage cares for the national heritage collection of over 420 historic sites and over one million historic objects.
"The grant from Movement for Good will help accelerate this work, enabling us to prioritise action across our estates, and improve our understanding of the impact of climate change upon heritage, to be shared widely across the sector."
Historic England, also based in Swindon, won a grant of £36,250, while Cat Watch Rescue Shelter in Amesbury and Prospect Hospice Limited in Swindon have received £1,000 each.
Benefact Group has donated more than £200 million to charitable causes since 2014 and last year was recognised as the third biggest corporate giver in the UK.
