A piece of land which used to be a hotel car park has been sold.
The land near Marlborough, which is opposite Savernake Manor, is about 0.65 acre and fully enclosed.
It was listed for sale by auctioneers Strakers and has sold for £55,000 - £5,000 over the guide price.
The plot of land can be accessed through a large gate and the legal documents indicate that no works have been carried out in the last four years.
The listing states: “Parcel of land in a rural position but near residential properties and could have future potential (subject to consents).
“Savernake is a small hamlet of residential properties only about a mile from Burbage. Located in the popular Pewsey Vale, Burbage has a range of amenities including a primary school, shops, public houses, Post Office, playing field and is within easy reach of nearby towns of Marlborough, Hungerford and Andover.
“It has a frontage to the road of about 45m (148ft). The land has a gated access from the lane and it is believed there is water to the land.
“The village of Burbage is only a short distance as are the larger towns of Pewsey and Marlborough.”
